Bridger is the inaugural customer for the launch of the CL-415 EAF platform, with Viking Air. Bridger’s purchase of 5 CL415EAF Super Scoopers will make it the only full spectrum aerial fire service provider in the nation.
Bridger Aerospace has an experienced and well-trained crew of maintenance professionals. Bridger ensures that maintenance personnel and their maintenance support staff are well trained and current on all general aviation standards and requirements. Bridger’s maintenance staff are specifically trained to service the Bridger fleet of aircraft. Bridger Aerospace ensures that the maintenance team has all the necessary equipment needed to exceed FAA maintenance standards and maintain USFS and BLM contract aircraft requirements.
Bridger Aerospace was selected by the Department of the Interior to operate unmanned aircraft on a call-when-needed basis over active wildfires throughout the United States. Bridger operates an arrays of UAVs that are equipped with cutting edge sensor technology provided by Ascent Vision Technologies to provide critical data to the fire management team.
This system collects aerial data to support wildland fire operations, search and rescue, and emergency management. This is the first UAV contract by the Bureau of Land Management or the United States Forest Service in support of active wildfire management. The first year of UAV operations will determine standard concept of operations (CONOPS) for the drone. Manned aircraft are not allowed to fly low visibility or unnecessarily hazardous conditions over an active wildfire, unmanned systems will be primarily used to provide incident commanders an additional tool for accurate fire intelligence. UAVs will provide infrared and optical imagery that will allow firefighters to attack with real time data.
